Event Waiver

All Support boat drivers must comply with the following - 

  1. The driver holds a Powerboat Licence
  2. Support vessels must have a current insurance policy with a minimum value of $5,000,000 for public liability insurance.
  3. ALL Occupants of support vessels are required to wear a Lifejacket at all times afloat and the driver must wear a kill cord.
  4. Ensure the vessel complies with current SA safety equipment regulations. - safety-equipment-for-powered-vessels.
  5. All support vessels must have a VHF radio and maintain a listening watch on the VHF radio channel nominated by the race committee
  6. All support vessels must operate under the direction of the Organising Authority and Race Officer in the event of an emergency
  7. Abide by the Racing Rules of Sailing, Australian Sailing Sports Integrity Policies & Safety Code Policies
  8. All support person vessels shall keep to leeward of the start line and its extensions between the preparatory signal and the start signal and more than 50 metres clear of any competing boat or mark of the course, between the start signal and the finish of the last boat, except when asked by the race committee to enter the course area or assist competitors.
  9. Berth in the correct areas for support boat vessels as directed by the Organising Authority. 
  10. Vehicles and trailers must be removed immediately after launching. Please refer to the event website for parking locations.

By registering all support boat operators agree to abide by instructions given by the race committee, regatta officials, this registration form, Notice of Race or Sailing Instructions in regards to coaching and support vessels. Support boat operators are cautioned that within the Racing Rules of Sailing misconduct by a support vessel can result in the sailors they are supporting being penalised and sanctions being imposed on the support person.

Penalties may apply to competitors that are associated with a support vessel that breaches any of the above conditions.
