Largs Bay Sailing Club conducts racing for a range of off the beach classes.
Largs Bay welcomes other classes to sail at the club during club events and other regattas.

   Class Yardstick Ratings
Australian Sailing provides yardstick ratings for all popular dinghy, catamaran, trailerable yacht and keelboat classes to facilitate the calculation of handicap results for mixed class regattas.  These ratings are based on data provided by clubs and associations from a ramge of mixed class events.

Junior and Youth Classes

  International Optimist Class
  A single-handed sailing dinghy with a sprit rigged mainsail. Suits ages 6 - 16 years.



  International Cadet Class
  A double-handed sailing dinghy with mainsail, jib and spinnaker. Suits ages 7 - 17 years.

 International Contender Class
  A single-handed sailing dinghy with mainsail and trapeze to suit more experienced sailiors

  International 420 Class
  A double-handed sailing dinghy with mainsail, jib and spinnaker. Suits ages 12 - 19 years.

Intermediate and Senior Classes

  Australian Sharpie Class
  A three-handed high performance, six metre sailing dinghy with mainsail, jib, spinnaker and trapeze.

  Heron Class
  A double handed sailing dinghy with mainsail and jib. Ideal for family combinations.



  Impulse Class
  A single-handed sailing skiff with mainsail. Optional sail sizes to suit a range of crew weights.

  International Fireball Class
  A double-handed, high performance, five metre sailing dinghy with mainsail, jib, spinnaker and trapeze.



  ILCA International Class
  A single-handed sailing dinghy with mainsail. Optional full rig, radial rig and 4.7 rig to suit a range of crew weights.
  Previously known as the Laser class.

  RS Aero Class
  A single-handed high performance sailing skiff with three mainsail sizes (5, 7 or 9 square metre) to suit a range of crew weights.  Contact the Australian agent; Sailing Raceboats for new and used boats and parts.



  Sabre Class
  A single-handed sailing dinghy with mainsail to suit a range of sailing experience.

  World Tasar Class
  A double-handed, high performance sailing skiff with mainsail and jib.



  Hartley TS16 Trailerable Yacht
  A double handed 16 foot trailerable yacht with mainsail and jib.
